Fall Fitness
August is a changing and challenging time in the weather changes for so many places. We can use this month to prepare us for the quickly approaching Fall and Winter seasons. Before we know it, we will be ditching our short sleeves and putting on sweatshirts and clothes that will don’t always show off our chiseled bodies.
Let’s still be on the journey for it!
Increase Intensity – If you are not using HIIT workouts during your weekly exercise routine, August may be the perfect month to sprinkle some fast-paced, sweaty workouts into your plan. Toning up and shedding those last few pesky pounds before you start shopping for holiday presents and wishing you were wearing beach clothes. Working on you will give you more confidence and help promote the positive body image you seek. The weather might be changing, but increasing the intensity and adding more cardio-driven exercises can help prepare us for the winter with some fun in the Autumn sun.
Contract Your Muscles – When you are looking to add definition and shape to your muscles, it is vital to emphasize form throughout the exercises. By making sure our muscles are engaged and tense during the workout, you create a harder muscle. Focus on slowing down the negative phase of each exercise and staying tense as long as possible.
Recommit to Your Core – Sometimes, when we are attempting to work arms and legs, we forget about working the core. Often ab routines fall to the wayside. This month, try carving out a set time in your routine each day for ab work. When spring creeps in on us, we will be ready to show off our beach body!
Commit to Movement – The weather plays a factor but daily walks or bike rides are a bonus you will not regret. You may even have the opportunity to swim.
Can you commit to movement along with your workout?
