Spring Break Tips
Ready or not, the countdown to spring break has begun.
Here are some tips to help you prepare for spring break.
Skin Care
Be sure to use sunscreen, wear sunglasses, or use a hat to shield yourself from harmful UV Rays. Make sure to take note of the SPF level of the sunscreen you are using so that you can reapply correctly. For example, a SPF 15 in theory should allow you to be exposed 15 times longer without damaging the skin. Most feel that reapplication should take place every 2 hours despite the SPF.
Stay Hydrated
Being exposed to the sun for longer amounts of time during spring break can cause you to become dehydrated much more rapidly. Especially if you are going to be involved in some type of outdoor physical activity, be wise and increase your H2O intake and be sure to have water on standby.
Bring Your Workouts
Just because you are on vacation does not mean you are off your fitness routine. Bring your workouts to the beach, work out in the pool, or even in your hotel room. Pack some resistance bands, weights, or take a nice jog in the morning outside. Most hotels now have amenities to accommodate at least some type of exercise routine and even if it is not what you are used to, something is better than nothing.
Be Sensible
You are on vacation and you have worked hard to look great for spring break. Be sensible and reward yourself while being conscious not to go overboard. Pick one meal to eat what you want, whether it be breakfast, lunch, dinner, or a snack. Try to pick one meal instead of every meal. Doing this will help you maintain your fitness and nutrition goals.
Pack Smart
Don’t forget to pack your Shakeology! Do some research ahead of time and find out what grocery stores and restaurants are nearby and try to plan some of your meals accordingly. Pack some snacks that will help keep you on track.
Cut out the sugar
21 Day Fix is a great program to prepare your body for spring break. 21 Day Fix helps train you on portion control and although you can still eat all your favorite foods, following the program will help you cut out the sugar and get you ready for the beach!
