Salsa = Summer in a bowl!

Salsa = summer in a bowl!

Salsa is a wonderful year-round dish, but the beautiful thing about salsa is that it is easy to make and that it is a tasty treat that can be made from your own garden. Beautiful colors, with an amazing smell that brings a fresh taste to your table that brightens up your meals.

Salsa Recipe

This is an easy and basic recipe for you.

Here you go and you can play with it!

1 medium tomato, chopped
1 green bell pepper (red or yellow work too), chopped
¼ white or red onion, chopped
12 sprigs fresh cilantro, finely chopped (if you are a cilantro person)
¼ tsp. dried oregano leaves (to taste; optional)
Combine it all in a medium bowl; mix well! And Yum!

What else can you do with the recipe?

There are several different things that could be included or exchanged into your salsa.

Serrano peppers

Jalapeño peppers

Lime

Lemon

Garlic

Cumin

I would love to hear what you come up with for your salsa.

Ways to Use Salsa

Salsa with tortilla chips

Some people use Fritos or Doritos or Chips or crackers

Use it, of course, with tacos or burritos or quesadillas.

How about putting it on a baked potato? Maybe on top of a hamburger? Try it in an omelet? Test it on top of a hot dog?

I have even seen salsa used on sub sandwiches.

The choices are endless.

Go for it!
