Miracle Morning Routine doccindy 10

Positive Affirmations: The 2nd part of the Miracle Morning Process

Positive affirmations are the second practice in the Miracle Morning routine. These affirmations can be viewed as one of the “most effective tools for quickly becoming the person you need to be to achieve everything you want in your life” (Elrod, 2016, p. 59). Affirmations are an avenue to the creation of the mindset that is needed to take you to the next level. This means that your thoughts, beliefs, feelings, and focus can shift positively.

Many successful people us affirmations every day.  Muhammad Ali always said, “It’s the repetition of affirmations that lead to belief. Once that belief becomes a deep conviction, things begin to happen.”  People recall “I AM THE GREATEST”! Muhammad Ali always repeated it and he believed it believed it. He told himself he was the greatest. Then everyone else was told he was the greatest and that created a wave of positive vibes through the universe for him. He eliminated negative self-talk and only brought in the positive and we take a big hint to jump into doing the same.

Old School Affirmations

For a long time you have seen ways to do affirmations the old school way. Ultimately they are not effective within the Miracle Morning routine for two reasons. First, your old ways of doing these sets up an affirmation that is not a reality and your subconscious knows this. So it makes no sense to proclaim “I am a billionaire” or “I live in a mansion” since they are simply what you want and not something you do actually have. Second, setting up affirmations with passive language tends to only be a feel good activity with no results.  While many have concentrated on the phrase “I am a money magnet” it makes you happy but does not get you any money.

Creating Your Own Affirmations

The process to create your own affirmations begins with documenting a result or outcome that you will be working towards. Don’t start with what you want. In addition, be sure to reinforce your goal with your WHY.

Elrod (2015, p. 32) chose examples like:

I am 100 percent committed to losing ____ pounds and weighing ____pounds by _____ (date) so that I have more energy and set an example of health and fitness for my kids.

I am committed to doubling my income in the next 12 months, from $__ to $__, so that I can provide financial security for my family.

Be clear to state when and how you are doing your goal. This strengthens it.  How would you lose the weight? What activities are you committed to for your goal? How are you doubling your income? What activities at work are you going to do consistently to achieve this?

Recite your affirmations every morning with conviction and emotion. Continue to read them and program your mind to understand that this goal is important and that you plan on making it a reality. As you move through the practice, be sure you update and revise your goals to reach your overall goals.

Do positive affirmations in your Miracle Morning routine for 5 minutes every day. This is done after you complete the Silence portion. These two steps will combine with the upcoming steps. Watch for them as we proceeds through the routine.

Affirmations are exciting to me.

Here is a peek into my first time completing my Miracle Morning and I talked about this.
