Craft Off Your Stress

Are you seeing pictures again on social media of art night where your friends gathered to paint pictures or do pottery? These nights are getting very popular, and some include adult beverages. Others use these parties to celebrate events like birthdays or showers. They seem like a good time and could be beneficial to you too.

Do you have an artistic side that you have been too busy to explore and use to your advantage? Believe it or not, crafting is an amazing way to lower stress. Research shows that ¾ of the people who spent 45-minute sessions working with art, and art materials were able to significantly reduce the amount of cortisol in their body. Cortisol is one of the stress hormones in your body.

Creative Outlet

The effects of exercising your creative side are not limited to painting or ceramics. Any creative outlet will work. This includes all crafting, dance, music, writing, and art. Get your creativeness going and reap the benefits of feeling accomplished and calmer when you do.

Set a goal to try something that is art related this week.

Will you attend a dance lesson? Visit a pottery class? Start writing a journal? Or how about sitting around a campfire with friends singing? Whatever you choose, let your arts and crafts side shine and have some fun. You might be able to reduce some stress in the process.

That is a Win/Win!
